Privacy Notice

Effective October 4, 2026. This notice describes how Central Aviation Tracking and its operator handle information when you use CAT.

Accounts and subscriptions

CAT stores account names, email addresses, salted password hashes, verification and reset-token hashes, secure session records, security rate-limit counters and terms-acceptance records in its existing account database. Stripe processes subscription payments. CAT stores the Stripe customer and subscription references and access status needed to provide Premium; CAT does not store your full payment-card number. Resend delivers account verification and password-reset messages. These records support account access, security, billing and service delivery.

Information on your device

Favorites, profile extras, selected map preferences, locally resized profile photos and legacy feature usage counts are stored in your browser. Favorites are not synchronized between devices. Signing out ends account access but does not erase these local preferences; use Clear local data on a shared device. Clearing browser data does not cancel a Stripe subscription or delete your account.

Requests and permissions

Netlify hosts CAT. Your browser and CAT’s server functions request aircraft, maps, imagery, airport information and weather from the providers credited in Sources & Credits. Requests can include IP address, viewed map area, aircraft identifier, airport code or weather location, and may appear in hosting and provider logs. Location and camera access require browser permission. Sky View uses the camera locally; CAT does not upload or record your camera feed. You can revoke permissions in browser settings.

Cookies and messages

Signing in uses an essential, secure session cookie. Account creation does not grant access to your email inbox or subscribe you to marketing. Live-view aircraft alerts depend on observations received while CAT is open. Browser notification permission does not enable background aircraft monitoring.

Retention and your choices

Account and billing records are kept while needed to operate your account, handle subscriptions, prevent abuse and meet legal recordkeeping obligations. Expired sessions and one-time links are cleaned up. You can update local preferences, revoke browser permissions, clear local data or cancel renewal through Manage subscription. To request account access, correction or deletion, contact accounts@centralaviationtracking.com. Identity verification may be required. Some billing or security records may need to be retained where legally required.

Service providers and changes

Information is shared with the service providers needed to deliver these functions, including Netlify, Stripe and Resend, and with authorities where legally required. Their processing locations and privacy terms may differ from yours. See Sources & Credits for aviation and map providers. Updates to this notice will be dated here, with additional notice where required.
